Greetings!

My name is Dalia Sherif and I am Houston Business Journal 2019 "Woman to Watch." I have a long career as a higher education professional, marketing, business development, and communication expert. I was honored to serve with the International Trade Administration as a trade expert identifying trendsetter ideas, proposing potential business deals, and exploring leads and opportunities. I have also served as a professional analyst and adviser to the Principal Commercial Officer and U.S. Ambassador in planning, organizing, and administering programs to facilitate the marketing of U.S. goods and services. I have assisted U.S. firms by developing marketing strategies, researching and writing market reports, planning and executing trade events, counseling U.S. exporters and facilitating matchmaking programs. Also maintained professional expertise in assigned sectors and managed portfolios that require a high degree of analytical capabilities including:

defense, renewable energy (solar, hydro, wind, and alternate forms of energy), aviation, polymers, oil and gas, tourism, and higher education. Currently, I am an educator bridging cultural differences and sharing my international business experience with my students. I am also a sought-after professional who provides cross-cultural training to individuals and organizations. 

  • Key Competencies:

My key competencies include managing higher education recruitment, compliance, accreditation, and retention. I am also an expert in screening potential leads, analyzing market strategies, deal requirements and financials, evaluating options; and resolving disputes. Throughout my career, I developed a proficient level experience in closing new business deals by coordinating requirements, negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with current business operations. 
 

  • Education and Awards:

I hold an I/O psychology PhD, an MBA degree, and two post graduate business certificates from Edinburgh Business School in Scotland. I have been awarded several Superior Honor Awards and Meritorious Honor Awards by the U.S. Departments of State and Commerce. I was also awarded a 2017 Teaching Excellence Finalist Award by the University of Houston-Downtown, where I have been teaching for the past four years.
